I have temporarily traded knitting needles for an embroidery needle in an effort to finish up Marie's little quilt. I say 'little', because even though it started out as a 'bed quilt', little is what it has decided to be. Thanks to the serendipitous find on ebay of two matching twin size quilts (for $30 each!!), in conjunction with my general habit of having way too many projects going on at once, the final result will be about 45" x 60" with more of the focus on fun rather than size.
Marie is actually quite thrilled with the thought of her quilt remaining a convenient size for hauling all over the house and has requested a few "girls" on it. I let her pick out three of the Stitchette patterns I had on hand and she is diligently (obsessively) keeping track of their progress. After the addition of a few "flowers", we will put the whole thing together by tying, or possibly machine quilting. Simple. Fun. Done. That's what we're shooting for here.
The constant dripping of rain from the eves (for days, now) makes for perfect stitching and reading weather, and the window seat the perfect spot for both.
Have a beautiful August day!
