We took a long awaited trip to the nursery a few days ago, and the kids have planted their first wee garden! (These things are so much fun, and not just for the kids either!)
They used containers we had hanging around and all the little items that we had collected during the winter.
Amelia dug into her doll house and pulled out a few things.
We also hit the miniatures section at Hobby Lobby, when they were 50% off, a few weeks back.
I couldn't resist this St. Francis. He was only $.25 at our local Catholic bookstore. Of course he was yellow plastic, but a can of spray paint set him to rights.
This is 5 year old Joseph's own personal garden, and he tends it so lovingly. Check out the plastic lions around his St. Francis! We have a long way to go before we come close to Jill Schoenfeld's beautiful gardens, but we are working on it!
