A few of the rose bushes seem to have forgotten it's January. I found these few little blooms peaking out from among the canes and thorns, and I had to pick them. Even in Louisiana, roses are scarce this time of year.
I also though it was the perfect time to share one of my favorite little crafts. Though it is so simple, I don't know if it even qualifies for the term 'craft'. This little hanging vase is simply an empty lemon extract bottle and a bit of wire.
As you can see, it is simply wrapped around the neck of the bottle and then shaped into a loop. I love hanging these little vases in unexpected spots on the porches. This particular one hangs right next to the front door.
So start saving those little bottles now, and when spring rolls around you will be able to hang bits of color everywhere! Have a fabulous day!
